Replacement and Cleaning
To replace the knobs, make sure the knob has the "OFF" position centered at the top. Slide the knob straight off the stem and slide the replacement knob back onto the stem. Do not bend the knobs upwards or downwards, and do not hang towels or other objects on them as this can damage the gas valve shaft. Same process can be used for easy cleaning of the knobs.

Melting Plastic knobs on LG double oven range

We bought our LDG3016ST double oven/range Feb 2012. The plastic knobs had all melted and we reordered new ones by December. They also just melted right away. I would NEVER recommend this stove to anyone. The racks also dont slide easily the upper over rack hits the door when you try to pull it out. All the burner covers stain no matter how hard I clean. I want at least new knobs but cannot tell which steel ones will work.

I bought these replacement knobs to replace the original knobs that came with the oven. Our oven is more than 10 years old and the original knob control settings began to melt and distort. I decided to replace the knobs with new ones from the official LG website. The control settings are not painted on the knobs but are applied with a type of decal. We have had the oven for over 10 years oven still works great and never had a problem with the knobs - until recently. I figured 10 years was a good record of accomplishment. The new knobs melted and distorted within one month - and now look worse than the original knobs. Too bad I already threw out the old original knobs. All five knobs are affected. See photo of the new installed knobs.

The knobs made the stove look brand new Fit perfectly too. I had to replace because I let the oven on with the door cracked. Eventually the knobs got dirty and melted a bit.

I cant believe how much we paid for this range top stove and within the year the knobs have a melted look and the stove overall lost its lust regardless how much I maintain it. I would not recommend this appliance. Customer service is not helpful either. I wish I would have looked at the reviews before my purchase.

I called quite a few years ago complaining about melted knobs LG said sorry cant do nothing about it other than I have to buy new ones sad you pay a lot of money for their product as a consumer they should be replaced if there is a defect
