Not Impressed With The Storage

I was planning to buy this model from Home Depot until my wife sent me a picture of the same unit (or so I thought) at Costco for a lower price. I purchased the model my wife found at Costco and IÕm pretty disappointed with what I found when I got home. LG makes 3 models of this fridge. I assumed I was getting what LG refers to as the vertical model since thatÕs what Costco shows on their website. After removing my front door, storm door and the doors for the fridge (this thing is huge) I was quickly discovered this was not the same unit as what I thought I was buying and now regret my purchase. Pros: This Fridge is nice looking and very large. Cons: This fridge lacks shelving and the large capacity is essentially worthless due to the lack of shelving. I donÕt understand why a manufacturer would make such a large fridge and offer a model that lacks the necessary features to utilize the space. IÕm seriously regretting this purchase and feel duped right now.

Well it is a good thing i am checking this website and reading the reviews 2 and a half years after purchasing this fridge. LOL I am seeing that the ice maker going out is a common thing in this model. Really wish I would have seen this before purchasing however I am glad to see I am not the only one dealing with these issues.

Bad compressor

Bought this item and the compressor failed within 2 years. Started looking into it and found that LG is being sued for putting bad compressors in their refrigerators. These compressors fail within 3 years. Had to buy a new refrigerator because the cost of having someone install with parts and labor was only a few hundred in diffrence. Why have them put in the same compressor when it will just fail again.

I wish I could say something positive regarding our purchase on 11/22/18. IÕd noticed after a few days when it was delivered and setup the door gasket not probably sealed causing condensation, but due to purchasing our new home and the birth of our son I had too much going on to make it a priority. I tried troubleshooting using the suggested tips but no success. The recommend temperature is either too cold or not cold enough. Needless to say youÕd expect when you purchase a quality item like LG youÕd expect this to happen years from now, not at first purchase.

Uneven cooling and poor shelf layout

I bought this product in Nov 2018. I did get a great price on it. Since then I had not been able to get the cooling just right for items both at the bottom of the unit and the top. Circulation issue perhaps? My biggest complaint, other than the fact that about a week ago it started making noise like it's working too hard to cool, is the shelving layout is poor. The giant space in the freezer always goes unused because the unit doesn't seem to come with enough shelves so stacking your frozen items mean you have to move things to get to others. The water/ice dispenser is not very user friendly either. Everyone that visits has to ask how to turn it from ice to water and back; just a minor detail but annoying enough of a design flaw that I note it. I wouldn't buy this unit again.
