5 Tips and Tricks to keep an organized fridge!

We all have those days where we open the fridge and horror seeps into your body. It’s a complete mess. The chocolate syrup leaking out of the bottle where it’s been shoved against the pickles and sandwiched against the soda. Tupperware filled with leftovers are tossed on different shelves, some a little more…moldy than others. And your produce can’t even fit in that overstuffed bottom drawer because people don’t know how to put things back in there place neatly.
It’s a pain, a headache and a half, and ultimately an eyesore. So without further ado, Happys Appliances Outlet is proud to provide you with 5 tips and tricks to help keep your fridge organized!

1. Use baskets

Baskets are a simple and easy way to make sure your fridge stays neat and tidy. There are countless possibilities with their versatility, you can organize them by grouping things or color coding them. Handy for people who are more visual in nature than others. Another great point is that they’re easy to slide out and clean if necessary. Oh and they’re super cheap and are carried virtually anywhere!

2. Use labels

Going hand in hand with the baskets are labels! Labels are a great way to make sure that people place things in their right spots, especially children that may otherwise just put things away anywhere they can. Dry erase markers are a great alternative to using traditional labels, but traditional labels can be used if need be. And you don’t just have to use them on the baskets either! You can write directly on the shelves and drawers.

3. Invest in turntables/lazy susans

Another great idea that goes hand in hand with the two above points are using lazy susans or turntables. You won’t have to scour the shelves looking for that bottle of ranch that you swore you had! With these nifty guys, you have a system where you can simply turn them to locate what you need. And like the baskets, you can organize what’s on them however you’d like.

4. Store meat and fish on the lower shelves

Every fridge has experienced the dreaded drippage of meats or fish being placed on higher shelves. Thawing slowly, the juices can seep through the packaging and pool around everything on their current shelf. And that isn’t even mentioning the flow of it down to the other shelves. It can be a huge safety and health hazard, so why not start storing your meat on the bottom shelf? No more dripping and yuckiness, and definitely more appealing to the eye.

5. Use activated carbon, coffee ground, or baking soda

Turns out using activated charcoal is a great way to kill odors in your fridge. You can grab that at your local PetSmart or PetCo and place it in your fridge. An innovative way to use something you wouldn’t normally think of using. And we can’t forget the classic coffee ground or baking soda technique. Both of them are tried and true and will guarantee an odor free fridge.

Conclusions

It’s better to have an organized fridge versus one that has stuff tumbling out. Not only is it more aesthetically appealing, but it’s a lot less stressful! And isn’t that something we all need in life, a little less stress?
